Since Shiva Kriya Yoga is the Ascension Knowledge given to the entire human race, its goal is to reach as many awake and aware souls of the purpose of Realization as possible.
As stated in other instances,
Realized beings are required to express it on Earth, given that Kriya Yoga does not only refer to techniques but also to cosmic energy that descends to the practitioner’s energy fields.

The Kriya Yoga system is transmitted “differently” in each line or restitution, in order that the respect, the acceptance and the development of the different manifests do not get complex.
Although they are different in certain form conceptions, all the true aspects of the Kriya Science maintain their fundamental aspects and the primary objective: Realization.
Kriya Yoga is not exclusive to a Master or to a specific Lineage, so those who claim absolute authority over this inner work system ignore its Divine origin and the graciousness inherent in this wisdom.
However, it is timely to clarify that, although the Kriya Knowledge is not limited to a single line of Masters, it is the Mahavatar Babaji who grants it to Beings that have achieved the complete activation of DNA helices, that is, they have reached the Realization state or Samadhi.
Hence, this dispensation of Light must have the compliance of very firm Cosmic Laws in order for it to be delivered perfectly and sustained without distortion as a consequence of the human exercise of minor consciousness.

- In 1861 the lineage of Lahiri Mahasaya begins: This disciple succession has decanted into several pure branches of Kriya. The branch of Sri Yukteswar, Master of Paramahansa Yogananda, is perhaps the best known. Swami Keshabananda (disciple of Lahiri) is another Guru of this Lineage, as well as Swami Hariharananda and Swami Omkarananda (of Rishikesh), both disciples of Sri Yukteswar. In addition, the family lineage of Lahiri Baba, which is based in Varanasi, must be counted.
- In 1951-52, Babaji established contact with V.T. Nilakantan and Yogi Ramaiah, and opens a new branch of Kriya Yoga in Chennai (India), currently present in different centers around the world.
Today, in times when the great Transformation is a fact, a new branch has been created on Earth destined to receive the Light Legacy:
- Mother Shaktiananda has received the grace of establishing a new and powerful focal point of Light called by Babaji; Shiva Kriya Yoga. Being the first originated outside of India for reasons already stated. From 2006-2007, after more than 5 years of preparation and experimentation with her closest disciples, Mother Shaktiananda is given the recognition and authorization to freely initiate those who resonate with the proposal of Light of the Mahavatar Babaji and the Immortal Masters.
